About the collection

The 25 000 volumes of the collection, which is constantly being enriched, have been chosen to meet a variety of tastes and needs. It includes works by both American and other English language authors.

The Library offers classic and contemporary fiction, best sellers, and books for children of all ages. It also has an important non-fiction collection with reference material, literary criticism, poetry, art, music and theater, business, economics, gender studies, and English language material. In addition, the Library has 50 up-to-date periodical subscriptions (current news, economics, business, popular culture, literature, travel, art, photography, language, and civilization.)

The American Library of Montpellier works in close relationship with the Anglo-American department of the University Paul Valéry and purchases the books needed for courses, especially the CAPES and Agrégation programs.

In addition, it has hundreds of audio-cassettes, videos and CD ROMs (including reference sources, encyclopedias, literature, the National Geographic, etc.).
